  • The carpet threshold Ali Tramline Z achieves a professional-quality installation. It discreetly joins vinyl flooring to a carpet, either across a room or doorway. Likewise, use with any multi-layered type of flooring such as laminate.
  • Choose the 1mm recess option if your vinyl flooring is a WPC or SPC type (wood or stone composite core) by peeling off the top pattern layer and inserting into the Ali Tramline Z. Please see the video below.
  • Choose the 3mm recess option if your vinyl flooring is a luxury vinyl (LVT) up to 3mm thick. Simply cut a strip and insert into the Ali Tramline Z.
  • Likewise choose the 3mm recess option if your LVT flooring is a Click fix method (floating) and typically 4-5mm thick or a thicker laminate flooring. Simply plane the thickness down to fit the 3mm recess.
  • Each carpet threshold strip measures 30mm wide in total and is designed with a recessed channel to take a 24mm wide section of your vinyl flooring.
  • Only use when the two floors are on the same level as each other. If your two floors are different heights, the Easyshim is a useful way to lift the carpet side.
  • The Tramline Z is manufactured in high grade aluminium, in a choice of 4 metal finishes: black, chrome, polished brass and antique brass.
  • Available 900mm and 1800mm long: suitable for cutting to length.

  • The channel (recess depth) is 3mm deep. It is suitable for inserting 2-3mm thick luxury vinyl (LVT)

Fitting Tips 3mm recess option

  • Please see the step-by-step manufacturer's fitting video by clicking on the VIDEO tab above. This requires skilled fitting skills.
  • Measure and cut a 24mm wide strip of your vinyl flooring.
  • Nail the Ali Tramline Z to the floor using the supplied Easywedges under each nail hole to ensure an angled tight grip on the carpet pins. Do avoid nailing near any underfloor heating.
  • Note that the carpet underlay stops short of the carpet threshold and only the carpet is stretched onto the pins.
  • Peel off the protective cover of the self adhesive strip in the recessed channel and stick in place a 24mm wide strip of your flooring.

First time I have used this and I'm quite impressed. It's a good way to brighten up the transition between a carpet and a hard floor. In our case from the bedroom to the en-suite. The bathroom fitter needed a couple of goes to get the 1mm strip from the plank but got there in the end. I would recommend this to anyone.
