  • The carpet bar - Premier Cover, sometimes known as Premier Trim Cover, is a versatile and secure door-plate.Ê It is widely used as it caters for most types of floor coverings, including laminate, wood, LVT, carpet, stone, ceramic tiles and any combination.
  • The carpet bar sits over the top of the two raw edges and is screwed in place. There are no fixings underneath.
  • The screw holes are pre-drilled 150mm (6Ó) apart.
  • The Premier Cover can be used even when the two floors are not level with each other (see width options).
  • If a carpet still needs to be raised up to the adjoining floor, then consider the Easyshims to create an invisible ramp of up to 15mm. Alternatively, take a look at one of the Ramp thresholds.
  • Supplied with 25mm long screws, size 8,Ê in a matching finish.
  • Made of a solid brass bar in a choice of 10 smart, unlacquered metal finishes.
  • Available 900mm, 1000mm, 1800mm and 2700mm long.

Width Options

  • 38mm or 55mm are suitable for all types of flooring. If fitting carpets, then these cover plates are ideal as they are designed to cover the gripper teeth, which are required to hold carpet in place.
  • Also available 30mm wide, which should only be used with vinyl, stick-down carpet and LVT as it is insufficiently wide to cover any gripper teeth holding standard carpet in place across the doorway.
  • The Premier Cover is designed to be installed flat/level or it can be installed at an angle (see diagrams below). The 30mm option caters for up to a 4mm height difference/edge or lip between the two floorcoverings, the 38mm caters for up to 6mm and the 55mm width caters for up to 8mm.

Fitting

  • Cut to length with a sharp hack-saw to fit your installation.
  • Screw in, carefully avoiding any underfloor heating.
  • Use gripper if fitting with loose carpets and either 38mm or 55mm options.
  • Use the 30mm option for LVT, vinyl and thin stick-down flooring with no gripper.

This product is made of solid brass and hand-finished and therefore the finish may vary slightly from batch to batch. To achieve an authentic look and withstand daily use, they are unlacquered and therefore may age naturally over time, depending on their environment. High gloss chrome wide door bar. Fantastic. Looks really classy. Previously had a slimmer version between downstairs WC and hallway. With the refit of downstairs WC which had flooring changed from carpet to tiles, the hallway carpet wasn’t going back into the gripper and was trying to fray. Enter carpet runners wide doorway bar that solved the problem as it was wider. So pleased to have been able to get this as was worried we would have a different style runner in the hallway to the others (now all three doorways in hall have high gloss chrome bars). Brilliant - thank you

Wow, really high quality item.
It was expensive at £45 +£10 postage
But it was well worth it.
The super polished nickel cover plate finishes of my laminet floor great.
38mm was just the right size.
Makes all the B&Q, Wicks door thresholds look very poor ( you get what you pay for).
Would highly recommend this product.

I already had a proper brass cover plate in the room and wanted one to match so that it dulled over time to match. It also had to join a fairly thick carpet and underlay to carpet tiles so needed to be substantial. This is perfect. Good and strong and was easy for me to shorten to length.
