Stair clips to stair runners
Stair clips, otherwise known as carpet clips, are an alternative decorative accessory to stair rods for a stair runner. They fix to your staircase with screws and sit either side of your runner with the 'clip' section decorating the edge of your stair runner. They work with any thickness or style of carpet. The Victorian is styled to reflect the designs of a bygone era and feature a fleur-de-lys motif. They are available in ten different finishes, including traditional antique brass and polished brass and a selection of more contemporary finishes such as pewter, satin nickel, brushed chrome and polished chrome. Remember, like stair rods, they are purely decorative, so you will need to attach your carpet runner with gripper or the like. Q and A
Do they fix the runner to the staircase?
No, modern-day carpet clips are purely decorative. A stair runner is firmly fixed to a staircase with gripper under the carpet.
How do they work?
They are constructed with a back plate that screws into the staircase and sits behind the stair runner. The front fleur-de-lys section swivels up for ease of fitting the back plate and then swivels back down in front of the carpet.
Does it matter what type of carpet you have?
Stair clips are purely decorative and are suitable for all types of stair runners, including tufted and woven carpets, loop piles and flatweaves.
How do you clean the stair clips?
The Victorian design features a fleur-de-lys; they are made in solid brass and then finished in ten different metal options. Finally, each one is lacquered which prevents them from tarnishing or changing with atmospheric conditions. To clean them, either dust or wipe with a damp cloth.
