Satin Brass and Polished Brass finishes:
For a natural finish, simply leave to age (oxidise). If you prefer to maintain the original finish then you will need to polish them occasionally, using a proprietary brass polish, such as a HG Copper shine cloth, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Should you wish to remove visible corrosion, the Mirka Total Finishing pad P1500 (grey) is suggested – rub gently and then buff up with a shine cloth.
Satin Nickel, Polished Nickel, Chrome, Brushed Chrome, Black finishes:
No maintenance required.
Antique Bronze and Antique Brass finishes:
Should any of these finishes become marked then you will need to polish them with a proprietary metal polish, such as a HG Copper shine cloth, and in time they will then age naturally, back to the original, supplied finish. Should you wish to remove visible corrosion, the Mirka Total Finishing pad P1500 (grey) is suggested – rub gently and then buff up with a shine cloth. This may take the finish back to the solid brass; however, in due course the rubbed/cleaned areas will naturally re-age and blend with the rest of the threshold.
Pewter finish:
If the threshold becomes marked, then polish them with a proprietary metal polish, such as a HG Copper shine cloth.
The Feline range includes: Feline 1, 2, BNF and Feline Edge. These are made of solid brass and are supplied unlacquered.
Polished Brass finish:
To maintain the polished finish, regular cleaning with a suitable metal polish and soft cloth is recommended. Alternatively, simply allow the finish to age naturally (oxidise).
Antique Brass and Antique Bronze finishes:
Simply wipe with a dry cloth or duster. Do not use any liquids on these finishes.
Chrome finishes:
Simply wipe with a dry cloth or duster, from time to time. If the door threshold is significantly soiled, then use a damp cloth and wipe dry immediately.
This range includes: AL/10, AL/92, AL/Cap It, AL/ANF and AC38 (no screws) and Extra Wide SSEP
Polished Aluminium finish:
This highly polished finish requires regular cleaning to keep it looking pristine. Use a suitable metal polish and a soft cloth and ensure all traces of polish are removed during polishing.
Satin Aluminium finish:
This metal threshold finish requires minimal cleaning and maintenance. Occasionally, dust with a dry cloth or if the marks are more significant then use a damp cloth and wipe dry immediately. It is also possible to remove some marks and light scratching with a Scotchpad – make sure you rub in the direction of the satin grain.
Brushed and Bright Stainless Steel finish:
These stainless steel finishes require regular dusting to prevent a build-up of dirt and dust. To clean, use soap, ammonial or detergent and warm water. Sponge with a soft cloth and then wipe with clean water and dry immediately with a dry, soft cloth. Goddard Stainless Steel Care may be used for stubborn stains.
