Two Blacksmith stair rod designs with artisan styling and appeal
The Blacksmith stair rods range is the creation of artisan blacksmith Rodney Brittain, who has created this natural, hammered finish. Originally produced in the wrought iron finish only, a stainless steel option has now been added to meet today’s style trends. The Ball and the Flat designs are simple in concept, appealing to those seeking a natural look or an industrial style to their décor scheme.
Unique bracket cater to winding stairs
The Blacksmith stair rods are versatile, being suitable for both runners and fitted carpets and are supplied with innovative stair rod brackets which accommodate both straight and winding stairs. The rods are 12 mm (1/2″) in diameter (suitable for most domestic staircases) and come in varying, fixed lengths. The brackets are made from matching cast steel and are designed to cater for any thickness of carpet – from thin, flat weave or natural flooring to a thick Wilton or Axminster carpet.
Stair rods suited to runners and fitted carpets
The Blacksmith stairrods are available in fixed lengths from 60.9cm (24”) to 121.9cm (48”) in 5.08cm (2 inch) increments. They are supplied with a pair of Blacksmith brackets, which should be located either side of your runner.. For a fitted carpet, the same design of bracket will neatly fit over the front face of the rod and attach to the staircase through your stair carpet.
Unique design features
- Hand beaten, solid iron rods, in a choice of two simple designs: Ball and Flat.

- Cylindrical rod: 12mm (1/2”) diameter.
- Supplied with a pair of matching-finished stair rod brackets with screws, suitable for installation with a runner or fitted carpet.

It is important to note that, like other stair runner rods, the Blacksmith stair rods are purely decorative and do not fix the carpet to the stairs; a stair runner must be secured by another means of installation such as gripper.
