Whether you are joining the carpet to vinyl in a doorway or across a room, a made-for-purpose door bars will protect the edge of both floorcoverings from excess wear, whilst neatly and securely transitioning from one to the other. When joining carpet to vinyl, typically the carpet pile combined with the carpet underlay will result in the carpeted side being thicker than the vinyl. This can cause a small ridge from the vinyl up to the carpet, which can cause a trip hazard and the carpet to wear unduly where foot traffic catches it in passing. A neat and secure solution is to use a curved edge door carpet bar. Sometimes referred to as a ""single"" by carpet fitters, this will grip the carpet whilst neatly fitting over the edge of the vinyl flooring.
